Accommodation

See our accommodation options for short to long term stays.

There are a number of other accommodation options that students may wish to consider. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Rental properties e.g. house, unit, flat
  • Hotels and motels
  • Self-contained apartments
  • Backpackers and hostels
  • Caravan park / onsite cabins

The prices vary considerably depending on what option is chosen. Students might like to consider sharing accommodation with another student(s). This is ultimately up to each student, but could reduce overall weekly costs considerably.

Where students move into rented/leased accommodation such as house, unit or flat, they should expect to pay an up-front rental bond. As a guide, this could be somewhere between: $500 – $1000. The bond is normally returned to you in full providing the property has not been damaged in any way.  For further information see the Tenant’s Union Tasmania at http://tutas.org.au/ and realestate.com.au for local properties for rent
