Aptitude testing and interviews

Version 1.1 | 11-01-2017

Applicants for some courses will be required to undertake and successfully complete aptitude testing to determine their suitability to undertake the course(s). The testing may include (but is not limited to) the following.

  • 15-30 minutes (approximately) in a flight simulator/synthetic trainer or aircraft undertaken at our facility in Cambridge, Tasmania. We may arrange for this session to be undertaken at a location in the applicant’s home state or country if the applicant does not reside in Tasmania, however this is at our sole discretion.
  • A written or computer-based aptitude test undertaken at our facility in Cambridge, Tasmania. We may arrange for this to be undertaken online (ie via the Internet) if the applicant does not reside in Tasmania, however this is at our sole discretion
  • An in-person interview of approximately 30 minutes, including a general English language proficiency assessment, undertaken at our facility in Cambridge, Tasmania. We may arrange for the interview to be undertaken via online conferencing (eg Skype) for an applicant who resides in another state or country, however this is at our sole discretion.

We reserve the right to tailor the aptitude test for each individual applicant as we deem necessary.

Applicant’s are not charged fee/s for aptitude testing unless we specifically specify fee/s and inform the applicant prior to the testing.

Following aptitude testing, an applicant who is deemed to be unsuitable for the course to which they have applied will not meet the conditions of enrolment for that course. We will cancel their application at that point.
